Hewn was designed to be the kind of mountain getaway where you actually want to spend time at the house.

The main living area features soaring wood ceilings, exposed beams and a cozy mountain atmosphere with comfortable furnishings and plenty of room to gather. Large windows bring the surrounding forest into the space and make the house feel tucked into the trees. Experience beautiful fall foliage right from the deck!

The kitchen is fully equipped for everything from pancakes before a day on the mountain to a family dinner at home. Coffee lovers will especially appreciate options including pour over and French press in addition to ninja and Keurig coffee machines—because mountain mornings deserve really good coffee.

GAME ROOM

Rainy afternoon? Kids need somewhere to disappear for a while? We've got you.

The dedicated game room includes:

• Indoor basketball game
• Foosball table
• Games for kids and families
• Comfortable space to hang out and play

It's a favorite spot for kids, but there's enough competition involved that the adults tend to end up downstairs too.

We love welcoming families and have intentionally created a house that works for both adults and kids.

There's space to spread out, indoor entertainment for downtime between adventures, comfortable gathering spaces and a wooded mountain setting that feels like a real escape.

Whether you're visiting Tweetsie Railroad with little ones, bringing teenagers for a ski weekend or simply spending a few days exploring the High Country together, Hewn House makes an easy home base.

DOG FRIENDLY

Your dog shouldn't have to miss the mountain trip.

We welcome one well-behaved dog under 50 lbs with the applicable pet fee.

Dogs must be house-trained and should remain off furniture and beds. Please clean up after your dog outside and crate your dog if left unattended in the house.

The yard is fenced all the way around and your canine companion can come and go as they please through the doggie door.

Sorry, no cats or other pets.

Hewn House is located in the Blowing Rock area with convenient access to some of the best experiences in the North Carolina High Country.

Spend your days exploring:

MOUNTAIN LIVING

Part of the charm of this home is its wooded Blue Ridge setting. Guests should expect the realities that come with staying in the mountains—including wildlife, insects, changing weather and occasional winter driving conditions.

Weather can change quickly at elevation. During winter weather, an AWD/4WD vehicle may be appropriate, and guests should check conditions before traveling.

GUEST ACCESS

Guests have private access to the home and designated outdoor areas during their stay, with the exception of locked owner/storage spaces.

Self check-in makes arrival simple and allows you to settle in on your own schedule after the designated check-in time.

GOOD TO KNOW

Hewn House is intentionally a peaceful mountain retreat.

We've focused on what we think makes a mountain stay especially comfortable: a beautiful wooded setting, thoughtfully designed interiors, quality beds and linens, a well-equipped kitchen, excellent coffee and an indoor game room the whole family can enjoy regardless of the weather.

HOUSE RULES

We want you to relax and enjoy the home while helping us keep it beautiful for the next family.

Occupancy & Visitors
Only registered guests are permitted overnight. Please do not exceed the maximum occupancy listed on the reservation. No parties, events or unauthorized gatherings.

Quiet Hours
Please respect our neighbors and the peaceful mountain setting. Quiet hours are 10 PM–7 AM. No outdoor amplified music or excessive noise.

Smoking & Vaping
Our home is completely smoke-free and vape-free. No smoking, vaping or cannabis use anywhere inside the home.

Pets
One well-behaved dog under 50 lbs is permitted with the applicable pet fee. Dogs must be house-trained, kept off beds and furniture, and crated if left unattended. Guests are responsible for cleaning up pet waste and for any pet-related damage.

Children
Children are very welcome, but this home is not a fully childproofed home. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times.

Rafters & Railings
For everyone's safety, do not climb, sit, swing or hang from the exposed rafters, beams, railings or loft areas.

No Open Flames
No candles, incense, fireworks or other open flames are permitted on the property.

Furniture & Décor
Please do not rearrange furniture or remove décor from its designated location.

Wildlife & Trash
Never leave food or trash outdoors. All trash should be placed in the designated secured containers. Please never feed or approach wildlife.

Parking
Parking is permitted only in designated areas. No street parking. Please note that the road approaching the house is a one-way road. Backing out of the driveway and continuing up the hill is the easiest way to exit the property.

Check-in / Check-out
Please observe the posted check-in and check-out times so our cleaning team has adequate time to prepare the house for every guest.
